No, I haven’t been making beads this week. It’s the one-week mark of my hysterectomy, and I’m feeling pretty darn good, but not sure I’m ready to make beads today! I do have the itch, though, so I’m listing some new items on etsy that I had at the ready. Take a look at the SueBeads etsy shop to see if there’s anything you need!

Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?
Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following:
~ A focal
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me!
Come see what the rest of us made!

I’m Baaaack!
Well, I had my surgery Monday, was home Tuesday afternoon, and today I feel pretty good! I still feel tired and a bit sore, but this is really an improvement. I’m bored from sitting around but based on all the wonderful advice I’ve received, I need to embrace it and relax! I really would love to go out and get some wings and beer at Wild Wings with my sweetie, but I guess that will have to wait. I will not have the brain to make any beads until next week, I’m guessing, but my store is open for business and I’m mailing things out, so please visit my SueBeads etsy store here!
In the meantime, look for my Bead Soup Blog Party post tomorrow morning bright and early! At least I’ll be able to peruse a lot of blogs in my down time!
Surgery Sale
So, on Monday, I get to have the ultimate “girl” surgery. I am a bit scared, and not too thrilled about it. I will be out of commission for at least a few days, and maybe up to a week or two depending on what actually happens to me! In celebration, I am having a sale through the weekend, you can get 15% off your purchase in my SueBeads etsy store by entering the coupon code SURGERY when you checkout! Have fun, empty my store so that when I feel better I have lots of motivation to make more beads!
Bead Table Wednesday
My friend Melissa
Melissa Meman is a very cool person – I had the pleasure of getting to know her at the Art Bliss weekend in September ’10. She makes great jewelry and has such an interesting family and life! I like her! Here’s a photo of earrings she made with my terrazzo beads – this post is waaaaay overdue. Sorry Melissa – but I finally got to it!
If you’ve made something with beads you purchased from me, please let me know – I’d love to post it here!
Bead Cruise Headpins!
Heather, of Humblebeads, is so multi-talented. She’s a bead maker, she’s a jewelry maker, she’s an illustrator and author, she edits the Art Bead Scene blog, and she plans the Bead Cruises! I am again providing some beads for the goody bag you receive if you sail on the bead cruise – this year I am sending glass headpins! I made 80 of them today – I need to make 40 more tonight or tomorrow! I think they look great and I hope the recipients love them too!
Picnik is too cool!
Sunday Already?
Wow, this week has flown! It was busy busy busy with kid stuff. This weekend was a nice change, not too many things scheduled. The above photo was created with picnik – I found out about it through Heather at Humblebeads! I haven’t had much time to play with it, but did change up this one photo. Pretty cool! I also love bighugelabs!
