AJE Component of the Month – Jennifer Stout Cameron!

Today is the reveal for the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month!  This month, Jennifer Stout Cameron of Glass Addictions provided us with a pair of glass headpins she made!

I’m afraid I wasn’t too imaginative, in that I made earrings from the pair.  While I wanted them to be dangles on something, like a bracelet, earrings just kept calling to me!  These are as close to mis-matched earrings as I will ever get!  The headpins came with a very long piece of copper and I cringed when I cut it – what if I dind’t like the earrings I made?  Well, too bad, Sue, you’ll have to live with it when you cut!  I feel like I need to add one more dangle to the earrings, and then I’ll be happy with them!

Please stop by Art Jewelry Elements blog to see what everyone else made with their wonderful headpins!  And thanks Jennifer for the amazingly wonderful headpins!

Art Jewelry Elements Earring Challenge – 15, 16/52

Sorry I’m late today but better late than never!  Today is the next reveal for the Art Jewelry Elements Earring Challenge!  Here are my two contributions, which I will pin in a minute!

This first pair is made with my sunny mimosa sparkle beads, and fishy charms with gorgeous blue lined seed beads!  Very summery – think I need to go to the islands?

This second pair is made with my enameled bead caps, and gorgeous blue chalcedony beads and tanzanite crystals.  I love these too!

Please check out what everyone else made by visiting the Art Jewelry Elements blog!

Focus on Life – 17/52 – Color

Sadly I have missed a few weeks, maybe I’ll get caught up.  I’ve been busy working and just don’t have time to do anything but the absolutely necessary anymore!  Here’s my photo:

This was taken at my daughter’s school, at her last concert performance of her high school career!  She plays the alto sax and bari sax, and has for years!  It was somewhat sad to realize it was going to probably be her last concert, unless she continues with some sort of band in college.  Please see Sally’s blog for everyone else’s color this week!

7th Bead Soup Reveal!

It’s the 7th Bead Soup Reveal day today, hosted by Lori Anderson of Pretty Things!  I have to say, she’s pretty awesome to keep doing this, all by herself, with her health issues right now!  Thanks Lori!

My partner was Krista Quantrill, of Cornucopia of Crafts – she resides in Canada and is a newbie this year to the Bead Soup swap.  Above is a photo of what she sent me.

I toyed with the idea of making a three-strand bracelet, but in the end, I decided to make a necklace with a “rosary chain” type design.  I just looked at Lori’s soup from the second reveal, and I really like her idea of using jump rings to connect instead of the loops, so I may go back and do that.  But I am pretty pleased with the necklace as it is, too.  It is going to be for my daughter!

Then I made a pair of earrings; I really loved those copper patinaed beads and had to use them for something!  I think the earrings turned out pretty cute!

Here’s what I sent Krista – I’m looking forward to seeing what she made!  You can visit Lori’s blog for a list of everyone else who played along!

Art Jewelry Elements 13,14/52 Earring Challenge

It’s hard to believe another two weeks have gone by, and it’s time for another Art Jewelry Elements earring challenge.  Here are my entries for this two weeks.  The first is a pair of aqua blue beads I make, that happen to be some of my personal favorite beads.  The second set is from my new embossed bead series, made with disc beads from Michaels to compliment the design.  Head on over to AJE to see what everyone else made this past two weeks!

Another Week!

I can’t believe it’s been another week, and I’m just getting to listing a few sets of beads.  I guess this will be how it will be for a while, I’m certainly gaining more working with boyfriend than on this bead business right now!  I did list these beads in my SueBeads etsy store and hope you’ll take a look.  I haven’t been doing my weekly photography with Sally Russick, and I believe it’s another posting for the AJE Earring Challenge on Sunday, I think I’ll be able to get to that!  I may end up going to once a week listing for my beads, if I can make any during the week after the workday is over!  I’ll think about that and let you know the dates so you can be ready!

New Beads

Sorry I’ve been so absent lately – I have been working a lot with my boyfriend and there is just not enough time, as I’m sure you all know, to have a somewhat-full-time job, a business, two kids, college looming, graduation looming, sports, etc. and try to keep up with the social media as well!  I feel bad because I do read all of your comments – I just literally have no time right now to do everything.  I hope to figure out some sort of schedule for myself to accomplish my goals more readily!  Now, for the bead porn!

I’ve been making a few new styles of beads lately, actually I’ve been somewhat obsessed with these styles – the flowers, the ruffles, the ruffled discs, and now the embossed beads!  You can see a lot of these beads in my SueBeads etsy store!  I hope you take a look!  While I need to work to make some money for all of the above, I sure do love making beads and hope to be able to continue doing so!

AJE Component of the Month with Jo Tinley!

It’s that time of month again already! It’s the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month!  This month, the lovely Jo Tinley, of Daisychain Designs, supplied us with one of her handmade copper hollow beads!  I chose one with flowers on it.  She showed how to make them on the Art Jewelry Elements blog and, let me tell you, it’s a lot of work!  I really love her work and I hope you visit her blog and shop!

I paired my bracelet with these gorgeous blue beads I picked up at a bead show in Monroeville a week or so ago.  I meant to show you photos on my blog of what I made, but seriously just cannot keep up at the moment!  These are faceted and such an amazing color, I’m sure they’re dyed but I still like them!

So this is the bracelet I made.  I love the blue color of the beads with the antiqued copper of Jo’s bead.  The only issue I have with this bracelet is that the clasp is too big.  I didn’t have ANY other clasps in antiqued copper and didn’t have time to make one, so I’ll be changing it out when I can.

I hope you like my bracelet!  Please stop by Art Jewelry Elements Blog today to see what everyone else made with their Jo Tinley bead!
