Not Much New

Here’s how I spent my day yesterday – get kids off to school, walk, workout, make beads, eat lunch, go to post office and grocery store, have iced tea with my friend Jill, empty dishwasher, clean up some messes, kids get home and leave for karate dojo, wine store and sporting goods store, make dinner, clean beads, etch beads, pack up some beads, clean up kitchen, homework with son (although the engineer did the bulk of that, I stuck around to check the attitude), get things ready for tomorrow, watch funny shows on tv, go to bed. Today I have to go to the bank, the BB&B, and make beads. I’m sure there’s other stuff, but I can’t remember right now. I am participating in a sale at the Pittsburgh Glass Center on May 9th, so I need to get a bunch more things ready. I have no idea how those sales go, so I guess it will be a learning experience. It’s from 10-4, I’ll put out a reminder later!

So in the meantime, here’s a photo of some beads I made a while ago that I just loved! They were nice and chunky, with a great color combo!

YAY!

YAY! I finally went down to the LBS here in Hilton Head today! It’s called High Tide Beads. They have lots and lots of gemstones and findings and loose beads, etc. I bought the gorgeous turquoise beads up top – it’s cloudy here today so I couldn’t take a picture that does the beads justice. Believe me, they are gorgeous turquoise – there are 38 10mm teardrop shaped beads. The first thing I am making with them when I get home is some earrings! The wood beads are robles wood and there’s 37 10mm beads on this strand. The bottom picture is of the supplies I wanted so I can try my hand at making a beaded bead. My friend Cristi at 2ifbysea send me some directions that she uses. The only problem was they didn’t have the size 15 seed beads so I bought 11. I hope it’s not too big. Oh well, at least I’m going to try! My wonderful son went to the bead store with me, so I bought him a little pirate bead. I’ll put it on a cellphone strap for him, or something like that. Girls just got up (12 noon) so maybe we’ll go for a walk down to the Crowne Plaza gift shop that’s just down the beach from us. Have a good day!

More Sparkle Barrel Beads Added

I finally finished adding all the sparkle barrel beads to my SueBeads website. This photo shows all the colors I have made to date. As I mentioned, I’ll be adding more colors next week; for now, if you want a color you don’t see, please just ask for it! I’ll be glad to make them for you! These beads are the beads that will be featured with my earring design in the February 2009 Simply Beads Magazine that hits newsstands tomorrow, if all goes right! Thanks for looking!
