Art Elements Weekly Challenge::Week 6

Better late than never, right? I have such a hard time keeping up with EVERYTHING – however, I learned this cool collage technique on my Potomac retreat – more about that later when I steal everyone’s photos – and made this.  The subject is JOY!

Not a great photo, but you get the idea!

Art Elements Weekly Challenge::Week 2

Our second weekly Art Elements challenge was Serenity.  I find my serenity at the beach – anywhere!

I created these two things:

This photo collage shows photos I’ve taken in St. Maarten, the Cayman Islands, Hilton Head Island, Clearwater Beach, Florida, and Oban, Scotland.  As you can see, I LOVE the beach!

These earrings were made with my own beachy lampwork headpins and roman glass heishe beads!

Visit next week for the week 3 installment!

Windy!

It is so windy on the beach, the engineer shot this 4 second video just so you could see how windy it actually is! He had to leave for a few days, to go home to teach and do some consulting. He’ll be back, though, to help me drive back home. He’s having dinner with my parents tonight, so he’s in good hands! In the meantime, I have three kids here to entertain – not that it’s too hard, they get up late, watch tv and swim or go to the beach in the late afternoon. We just got back from the beach, and the water is so warm in the pool, they are going to go for a little night swim! See you tomorrow with some new beach finds. I’m heading to a little bead store tomorrow, too, after my bike ride with my son, so maybe I’ll find some good beads to show you!

Back from Vacation!

I’m back, and I’m ready to make beads. We had a nice, relaxing time, with only one rain day – which is good, sometimes, because you can just do nothing! Our friends came down for about 4 days to visit and that was very nice to have them there! I’ll leave you with a bead pic, for interest! This bead is now on etsy; click on it, you know you want to!

Beach!

WooHoo – we are leaving for the beach tomorrow morning! I am still taking bead orders and will get to work right away when I get back – so keep ordering! I will take all the items I have for sale on etsy, so you can still purchase etsy items, and I’ll be able to mail them from South Carolina! I’ll just leave you with some eye candy! I’m making some of my designer beads in a bigger mandrel size (4-5mm) in addition to the regular sizes I already make. Let me know if you are interested! These work great on “those” bracelets! I also have a customer who is using them on her braided dog leashes! Sounds like a cool idea!
