Beads of Courage Charm Swap!

UPDATED to add:  There’s a small hitch with the eBay auction, new details will be posted as soon as available.

Today is the reveal for the Beads of Courage Charm Swap and Auction, once again hosted by Jennifer Stout Cameron.  This year the theme was Fairy Tales.  This was a bit of a challenge for me.  Until I got this in the mail:

I don’t even think this is the one I ordered, but I wasn’t going to send it back to the UK and exchange it, so I kept it.  I immediately thought “pot of gold” when I saw that one roller section.

So, I looked up the leprechaun and pot of gold legend and the rest, as they say, is history.

First, here are my charms:

And now, the story of the leprechaun and the “Pot O’ Gold”

Fairy Tale: Leprechaun
The Leprechaun is a type of fairy in Irish folklore.  They are depicted as tiny, solitary, bearded
men who cause mischief.  According to
legend, they spend their time making and mending shoes and have a hidden pot of
gold at the end of the rainbow.  If
captured by a human, they will grant them three wishes to obtain their freedom.

My charm is a pot of gold, with the gold being a gold bead on top of the pot, and then a Celtic charm hanging from it.

And these are the charms I received!

Each participant made 11 charms with the theme SOAR – 10 were swapped (we receive one of our own) and one was provided for the auction.  These are my charms!  Lampwork birdies!

I made two colors for the swap, turquoise and red, and I made three for the auction in different colors with heart dangles.

Beads of Courage Auction and Charm Swap!

Today is the big day! Today is the day I can reveal the charms I made and received for the Beads of Courage Charm Swap and Auction – LOVE, hosted by Jennifer Cameron!  Today, you can go to THIS LINK and start bidding on charms – all proceeds go to Beads of Courage

The other day I posted a teaser photo of the charms I made, and below you will find the teaser alongside the photo of the charms in full view!

I made my charms from glass hearts that I made and heart dangles.  The glass hearts were made of clear glass, which represents the purity of these little kids hearts, and they were etched to represent their medical struggles.  The charm dangles are for extra love!

Below you can see the charms that I received, and I was a lucky girl!

Row 1 – Nancy Dale, Lesley Watt, Terri Del Signore
Row 2 – Rita of Toltec Jewels , Susan Delaney, Jean Peter

Everyone did such an amazing job with their charms, and I can’t wait to go through everyone’s blogs to see what they received!  You can too by following the links in the list below!  And please, go to the auctions and bid often and high for a great cause!  And a huge THANK YOU to Jennifer Cameron for ALL the work she puts into this charm swap and auction – it’s a huge job and she’s an amazing person!
