It was my turn to pick the theme of the month for Art Elements and I chose Butterflies – seems appropriate for May! Even though we aren’t doing a blog hop anymore for the themes – you can see everyone’s work on Facebook group Art Elements Community or in Instagram with the hashtags #aethemechallenge or #aebutterflies – I decided to write a blog post anyways, because it’s been a while!
I had worked on this butterfly pendant with a cab by Jenny Davies-Reazor at an art gathering I attended several years ago but wanted to show it to you – I loved the cabochon’s colors!
Jenny gifted me with another butterfly cab so the first project I worked on was this! I love it!
I loved adding the flower embellishments – a little out of my comfort zone because I’m not a “fancy” person!
The next project was the butterfly bead mosaic. I’m not done, it’s not coming together the way I see in my head so I have to let it sit a bit. However, the one side of beads are glued down and ready for me to fill in the holes – that’s my issue, the 15s I’m using aren’t singing to me! (the first photo is the beads all arranged, the second photo is with the beads on one size glued down).
And finally, I attended one of Lisa Peters’ Art shows in Ceramic Art Bead Market on FaceBook and picked up two gorgeous butterfly cabs. This one was easy for me to finish!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations, and I hope you visit the facebook group Art Elements Community to check out what other people are making! Thanks for stopping by!
I love the pendants, but am very intrigued by the bead mosaic piece. That is so pretty already!
Love all the beading. The cab with the “fancy” flower embellishments is my favorite, but they’re all fabulous. I thought about doing a mosaic butterfly but thinking was as far as I got, LOL.
These are beautiful, Sue. Love them all!
