It’s time again for the Bead Soup Blog Party, hosted by Lori Anderson. I don’t really know how she does it, she has health issues but keeps plugging away. Thanks to Lori and to her husband and her helpers who made this work yet again this year!
My partner was Rochelle Brisson from Sea Chelles Design on etsy, and her blog is A Creative Chelle. I posted earlier about what she sent me for my soup:
Usually I stress about what beads or components I’m going to add to the soup to make bunches of things, and I decided I don’t really like that stress. I wanted to stress a different way – use only what she sent me, other than whatever I was going to use to string. I did a pretty good job, I think. I was inspired by a necklace I saw in a magazine some time ago, an assymetrical necklace that used the toggle clasp in the front for the focal.
The pretty ceramic focal hangs off the round part of the toggle clasp, in the front of the necklace.
I used a lot of the beads to make an assymetrical design, and used silver chain as well.
I do have a few beads left, and was going to make a bracelet as well, but came down with bronchitis for two weeks and just couldn’t do it! Thank you to Rochelle for providing me with this pretty soup! You can hop today and see what everyone else made by visiting their blogs listed below! Don’t feel like you have to do it all in one day, there are a lot of blogs to visit!
Those are pretty shades of blue and like the asymmetry! Hope you're feeling better now!
Very pretty necklace Sue – you made great use of your soup.
Well done for sticking just to your soup! It's a great necklace too!
Great job, I love how your necklace turned out xx Nat
Lovely Necklace from a lovely Soup!
I love how you added your own personal challenge to this adventure. Your necklace is beautiful. Hope you are feeling better soon!
I love it! Great way to use the focal and clasp 🙂
Nice use of the soup! I think the clasp as part of the focal is a really nice touch!

Very pretty Sue! (and congrats on not using other beads)
Love, love, love the colors and I love the design of the piece! I have tried asymmetrical but can never get the piece to look right. I think you nailed it! Gorgeous!
I love the necklace. The colours are beautiful and it's definitely something I would wear.
That's a really pretty necklace Sue! I love how you've used the clasp as part of the design!
Nice job…very beautiful necklace…
Lovely soup! I hope you're feeling better!
Such lovely work well done!
I love the fun design of your necklace. Comfortable and easy to wear.
Beautiful necklace, Sue! I hope you feel better! <3
Love it! I love asymmetrical design and I'm very fond of the clasp in the front for both design and easier wear…I have bad hands…you really nailed it with your creation. 🙂
I love the asymmetrical design and the toggle clasp as part of the focal looks great!
Beautiful necklace. Love the clasp in front like that. Great job!
Sue, I just love what you did with the focal! It certainly makes the necklace more adaptable to a wider varieties of necklines.
Nice job Sue! I love the way you used the toggle clasp as part of the focal. And I really like the asymmetry of the piece. I went for less stress this year too, making only 2 necklaces and then a third one when we had the extra week.
Happy Mother's day. Hope you are over your bronchitis!
Oh, I love the asymmetrical design! The colors and the chain complement each other perfectly.
The toggle in the front was a great choice here! Lovely. 🙂
I love how you hung the focal from the toggle! Beautiful necklace!
Beautiful necklace, you arranged your components greatly
That's really pretty Sue! I'm always tempted to try the challenge of using almost only what is in the soup. You did an excellent job of creating just that.
Lovely soup and such a beautiful design. I had the best intentions to use only my soup plus string/wire but I was stumped. You did a great job pulling yours into a single design.
What a bright and happy asymmetrical piece. Just lovely!
I love your pretty asymmetrical design and I LOVE your no-stress attitude, Sue 🙂
What a pretty and soothing mix of colors! The focal is beautiful! Love your necklace!
Beautiful job, Sue! I love the use of the toggle in the front with the pendant hanging below it!
I find that dark blue and white hard to work with – but clearly you did not! It's a lovely necklace – glad you had "fun" stress this year!
what a gorgeous design! good for you to pick not to stress! it came out wonderful! sorry that you caught bronchitis! Hope you feel better now!
First off, I hope you're feeling better. Secondly, I really like that you took the idea of using the clasp at the front and went with it. It worked out wonderfully. I'm also pleased that you didn't let yourself stress over the challenge. It all worked out perfectly.
Sue your design is great. I like the clasp in front Idea and had planned on using it in one of my pieces but the beads had other ideas. You have a good design sense. You added the perfect amount of accessories to compliment the focal.
Oh, how nice necklace you have created of these beads. It´s really a challenge to use only the beads of the soup. I used the same way to work this year and it also works because of the beautiful color combination of the soup.
Thank you very much of the three beautiful beads you gave to me in AJE giveaway. <3 They arrived today. I´m so excited of making some jewellery of them.
Hi Sue, your necklace is very pretty, love that clasp in front and the pendant under it.
I know exactly that stress, it happened to me for the necklace I've still not finished …
Alenka
I hope your bronchitis has come and gone. It is not much fun.
I like how you worked at just using the beads you were sent in your design and the necklace you made is fabulous.
Lovely necklace, I love the clasp in the front, it goes with the focal so well.
What a pretty focal. While you didn't use all your beads, you managed to get a few of each color in your beautiful necklace.
You did a great job with your soup. Hope you are feeling better by now!
Beautiful necklace, love the pretty focal and how you used the clasp in the front too.

great idea for clasp-pendant!
I love how you made the toggle part of the focal aspect of this necklace . It makes it look like a lariat. style necklace
it would be so cool if it was interchangeable . use the same necklace and just swap out the focal dangle. love the blues used
Loving the assym of your piece. I LOVE the clasp in the front! I'm gonna do that some day – just gotta find the right piece =)

I think you made the right decision – no stress and a beautiful necklace was the outcome! The soup was really a great mix to be used all together. I also like that look with the clasp in the front with the focal.
I really like what you did with the focal. I have been dying to try this myself. I love the colors and the use of the chain. Hope you are feeling better.

We're always tempted to use beads from our reserves and it's a real challenge to refrain from doing so! You have shown that one can make a beautiful necklace plus asymmetrical plus using the clasp as a focal with just what you have been sent! Great!
